ABOUT DOUG

DOUG PARKER PUBLICITY PHOTOHi there and thanks for stopping by! I guess I should tell you a little about myself without going into too much detail and completely boring you.  I am a product of the 80's and was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I am a simple person who appreciates the simple things in life.

In my professional life I am a radio personality and have been since 2001.   Working in radio is a blast and has provided me with so much opportunity and knowledge.  Never a dull moment and you learn something new every day.

Traveling has always been a big part of my life.  Sometimes I will wake up in the morning and take a weekend trip just for the sake of doing it.  A rolling stone gathers no moss, .....right?

On the other side of things, I developed a successful radio show, web site, blog,  and podcast called Cruise RadioCruise Radio is a radio show about cruising, offering interviews with cruise experts, tips, ship reviews and weekly news about the cruise industry.  I am very active in all aspects of Cruise Radio from sales, web content and the radio show.

That's where this blog picks up.  Being that travel is a passion of mine,  I want to be able to post all things travel.  My readers might want to throw the computer at me if I started posting reviews on a hotel in Nashville, Tennessee on the Cruise Radio site.  I think you get where I am going.... The pictures you see on my site are mostly from my iPhone so I don't have to lug around a camera..... it's hard enough keeping up with myself!

My goal is to do a RTW (round the world) trip in the near future.  The last thing I want to do is to look back at my life and be one of those miserable people griping that I didn't get to do what I wanted in life.  Life is to short plus.... an ounce of experience is worth a ton of theory, right?

My hobbies are travel, writing, sky diving, concerts and cruises.  I am not a english major or writer so what you see is what you get!

I would love to hear from you and your travels: Doug@CruiseRadio.net
