Right now my people watching spot is in the Viking club lounge. If you ever have saw a Royal Caribbean ship, the Viking Club is on the very top of the ship, it kind of reminds me of a giant disc or the star trek "enterprise." 

Sailing in the fall definitely offers a more of a diverse crowd than summer sailings. It's typical for a summer sailing to have a lot of families with kids on vacation, fall offers a different type of sailing. The fall crowd offers couples, retirees, singles, I bet one thing, I maybe one of the only folks working on this cruise besides the crew.

Follow me over the next few days as we hit islands, taste food, local fare on the islands and experiance one of a kind customer service on a cruise ship.

That is in the eye of the the person who holds the finances. Personally, I use a credit card because at the end of the cruise it's charged at one time. Others may prefer a debit card.

I have a draw back with a debit card though. The debit card can have the tendency to freeze funds in your checking account if you make a lot of purchases on board the ship. I made this mistake when younger. Using my debit card to check in, they freeze your funds in increments (every cruise line varies). Note that these funds can take up to five days to be released back into your checking account after you get back on land.  That can pretty much screw your car drive home if you're depending on your debit card as your only source of funds.

Where as a credit card charges all your funds at the end of the ship which eliminates embarrassment when you are on sure and trying to buy a souvenir or a drink at a bar in the port.

If neither of these sound pleasing to you, you can always pre-pay with cash at the guest services desk when you board the ship. The cash system seems to work well because you know your spending and you flat out can't spend anymore if you deplete your cash fund. At the end of the cruise you can settle your account and if any cash if owed to you they will return it or some cruise lines have a check printed at the end of the cruise and slide it under your door the last night.

Carnival Cruise Food - Warm Chocolate Cake

• 8 ounces semisweet chocolate 1 cup
• (2 sticks) butter
•  7 eggs
• 6 tablespoons sugar
• 1/2 cup flour
• Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter; cool 10 minutes. In separate bowl, mix 4 eggs with sugar. Whisk. Add flour and whisk. Add remaining 3 eggs. Add egg mixture to chocolate mixture. Pour in individual baking cups or ramekins. Bake until just done, about 15-20 minutes (interior will be melting, not set). Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy and run 10 miles after you eat it!

 These are in no particular order:

1. An iron — your bag will get confiscated
2. Towels — there are towels all over the ship
3. Shampoo and Soap — there is plenty in your room, unless your picky
4. Bathrobe — usually provided in room
5. Booze — or if you do, BE SMART
6. Gun or Knives — do I REALLY need to explain why?
7. Too much clothes
8. Too many pairs of shoes
9. Cell phone – esp. if you have an iPhone (ask me about my $568 cell bill)

I am open to your thoughts, those were just a couple of things that came to the top of mind.
