BWI Airport Tips

Before I travel to a new airport I always check out the any airport tips to make my commute easier.  One thing I noticed in my search this time was no Baltimore (BWI) airport tips.

BWI is a pretty big airport. 1.976 million square feet (45.4 acres); 5 concourses (4 domestic, 1 international/swing); 69 jet gates, 5 gates dedicated to commuter aircraft. An estimated 60,000 passengers flow through BWI daily.

My Tips for Travel at BWI:

If you need a recharge on your computer or cell phone, most of the concourse plugs are disabled so grab a little something to eat in a bar or a restaurant and use their plugs.

On a layover, stay in your terminal. Southwest dominates A/B terminal, AirTran is in D concourse but venturing out could delay you getting back to your plane.  When I was there on Monday morning there was a long delay getting back through security.

Do you have any travel tips or advice for BWI airport?

I agree with both tips, can’t seem to find an outlet that works outside of the restos at BWI and going through security again at BWI on a short layover is a good recipe for a missed flight.
